Information about Casa Oks

Image
Antonio Bonet was a Catalan architect, designer and urban planner. Apart from Oks house he is also known for designing La Ricarda and the butterfly chair.  The Oks house is located in the town of Martinez, in the outskirts of Buenos Aires. It has two floors, and a basement. From the main façade shrubs are connecting a path to the streets. The area of the house has a fence with a low grind. The house has a kind of patio coming from one of the facades.  A 70-centimeter high platform defines the perimeter and lower floor of the house. The inside of the house floats freely, and is illuminated by the big windows covering the wall. The house is structured with columns bearing the loads. This allowed big windows and open spaces inside the house.  (Source + pictures taken from http://www.hiddenarchitecture.net/2017/04/oks-house.html )

How to draw Casa Oks floorplans in Autocad

Image
Casa Oks is a 3 floor building, where one of them is the basement. Follow these steps to draw the floorplans. Start creating layers for the different elements you are going to draw. Ajust the thickness of the lines after which elements are the most important. Make names of the layers so that you can recognize them easily.  When you start the drawing, first figure the main lines of the floors. Take measurements from existing floorplans. If you do not have any measurements you can use the standard measurement for for example a door to know the scale of the existing floorpplans, and calculate the measurements from that. Start with drawing the main walls, and finish with less important elements, as the furnitures. Make dynamic blocks of the furnitures that are repeated in the floorplans, for example the bed and the sofa. You can create a visibility state of the sofa, that makes it possible to add or substract pieces of the sofa with onely a click. This will make it faster ...

How to create dimension lines in Autocad

Image
To make dimensions can be tricky, because it might appear problems like the size of the dimensions being different in the presentation. The dimension lines are supposed to appear as the same size in the different scale drawings. This is the process of how to do it the correct way. 1.  First step is to create a new text style for the dimension lines. In our project we used the style simplex with width factor 0.7. 2. After creating a text style, you go to "manage dimension styles" to create a new style for your project. Here you can manage the dim lines so that they can easily be read in your presentation. Create a name for your new text style. First you will create a style for dimension 1:100. -In the first box "Lines" the box will finally have these values. Turn on extention line 1 and 2. -In the next box "Symbols and arrows" make sure to choose the "architectural tick" as arrows. The box will finally look like the...
