Structure of the building Before starting: Before starting to work you have to create the file. You will open an architectural template on the start page. Before making any line or element in the template it is important to check the units. In my case I am working in meters. Axis grid The grids are going to be the guidelines for creating the structure. In the floor plan, you have the grids two ways (vertical and horizontal). It is natural to put the grids going through the structural elements. If you for example, have a structural wall that is split or has different thicknesses you are going to consider the wall of the most length as where to put the axis. In our case it is going to be seven vertical axis and three horizontal axis. Make sure to put the axes aligned to make them easier to work with. The naming system of the grids is important. DIMENTIONS - BACH BLOCK Before starting to build the house in Revit we need to analyze the floor plan and make the dimention lines.  We did this with downloading the floor plan from internet and scaling it. The program we used to hel us with this is Autocad, which we learned in computer tools 1. This is the steps to scale a floor plan. 1. Imort the picture of the floor plan from the box *insert* - attach, and paste the picture with the coordinates (0,0). 2. We used the standard measurement for a inside door (0.8) as a reference. Draw a line with the same length of the door. You will use this to make the reference.  3. Write the command *Scale (SC)* and click on the door as a start point. Then it gives you the option to choose reference. Choose the length of the door you just drew, and click in both ends. New project computer tools- Joan Sebastian Bach 7 / Coderch and Valls In comuter tools 2 we have started to learn the software Revit. In this class we will have a year project of constructing the Bach block in the program.  The building is located in Barcelona and is designed by the architects Corderch and Valls.  About the building: The block consist of several apartments, where all of them have an individual access. The lobby is an access porch for vehicles. The living rooms has sliding windows where blinders prevent vision in to the housing from the outside, while the sunlight still is allowed inside. The blinders playes a role for the iconic design of the façade.  program of the apartments: connection between main lobby, bedrooms and dining room.
