DIMENTIONS - BACH BLOCK

Before starting to build the house in Revit we need to analyze the floor plan and make the dimention
lines. 

We did this with downloading the floor plan from internet and scaling it. The program we used to hel us with this is Autocad, which we learned in computer tools 1. This is the steps to scale a floor plan.

1. Imort the picture of the floor plan from the box *insert* - attach, and paste the picture with the coordinates (0,0).

2. We used the standard measurement for a inside door (0.8) as a reference. Draw a line with the same length of the door. You will use this to make the reference. 

3. Write the command *Scale (SC)* and click on the door as a start point. Then it gives you the option to choose reference. Choose the length of the door you just drew, and click in both ends. Then write the measurement you want the door to have in this drawing, which in our case is 0.8 m.


Now the drawing is in scale in Autocad and we can start creating dimention lines.


Create a new style of dimention lines that fits to the drawing (we used the standard settings from comuter tools 1). In the drawing below you can see the dimention lines we created.

To make it a bit easier to see I zoomed in on the picture. This is how the dimention lines turned out.


Now we are ready to start in Revit for next class!

Renders  Revit In Revit we used in-place masses. We needed the vertical garden and the kitchen frame with a small kitchenette. To create vertical garden we made several boxes placed on top of each other in a pattern. To make one of these boxes we used in place mass from massing and site in the tools bar. We first created a box, and then a sequence of void inside of it. Then we used voids to make the subtractions for the gaps. We put the box repeatedly in a vertical pattern. For the kitchen frame we used the same technique. Then we added materiality to it. Sine last Revit delivery we changed the dimensions of the kitchen frame and added some extra vertical boxes for the plants that will be used for cooking in the kitchen. Easter practice I had some problems with my Easter practice, because the project was first deleted from my computer, so I had to redo it.. The geometric shapes were difficult to make. I used boxes, in order to do the main shape, I made two different geometric shapes and used "intersect" to make a union. I used the command "revolve" for the circular stairs. 1. To start you have to drew the section of the stairs. For circular stairs you have to extrude them witn using the command "revolve". For the squared stairs I used normal extrude, and to create the corners I used the command "union". 2. Then I started drawing the supports of the shape V. Presentation, book and families

Since I already wrote about presentation sheets in my last blog post I will only write about families and color schemes in this post. Families Figure 1 - reference planes The planes of reference are those that delimit us the drawing and help us to place the different elements of the family. The two planes that define origin form the point of insertion of the family. It is important that the planes of origin be anchored so that they do not move. Reference planes can be dimensioned and parameterized to control the distances between them. The dimensions create parameters to previously decide the distances of the objects linked to the planes.
