New project computer tools- Joan Sebastian Bach 7 / Coderch and Valls

In comuter tools 2 we have started to learn the software Revit. In this class we will have a year project of constructing the Bach block in the program. 

The building is located in Barcelona and is designed by the architects Corderch and Valls. 

About the building:

The block consist of several apartments, where all of them have an individual access. The lobby is an access porch for vehicles. The living rooms has sliding windows where blinders prevent vision in to the housing from the outside, while the sunlight still is allowed inside. The blinders playes a role for the iconic design of the façade. 
program of the apartments: connection between main lobby, bedrooms and dining room. All the main rooms of the house included the bathrooms are with lightening and ventilation to the outside. There is a fire lace in the living room. 





About the architects:
José Antonio Coderch and Manuel Valls.
José Antonio Coderch was a Spanish architect. In post-war Spain, Coderch emerged as the architect of modernity. 
Two years after finishing his studies, Coderch established his architecture office in Barcelona together with Manuel Valls. In the following years he projected numerous buildings, some of which were already representative of his work as a whole, such as the Ugalde House, and the Apartment Building on Johann Sebastian Bach Street in Barcelona. He received several architecture and design awards and Josep Lluís Sert proposed him as a representative member of Spain at CIAM, the International Congress of Modern Architects.

Vertical Garden: Renders

Renders  Revit In Revit we used in-place masses. We needed the vertical garden and the kitchen frame with a small kitchenette. To create vertical garden we made several boxes placed on top of each other in a pattern. To make one of these boxes we used in place mass from massing and site in the tools bar. We first created a box, and then a sequence of void inside of it. Then we used voids to make the subtractions for the gaps. We put the box repeatedly in a vertical pattern. For the kitchen frame we used the same technique. Then we added materiality to it. Sine last Revit delivery we changed the dimensions of the kitchen frame and added some extra vertical boxes for the plants that will be used for cooking in the kitchen. Easter practice I had some problems with my Easter practice, because the project was first deleted from my computer, so I had to redo it.. The geometric shapes were difficult to make. I used boxes, in order to do the main shape, I made two different geometric shapes and used "intersect" to make a union. I used the command "revolve" for the circular stairs. 1. To start you have to drew the section of the stairs. For circular stairs you have to extrude them witn using the command "revolve". For the squared stairs I used normal extrude, and to create the corners I used the command "union". 2. Then I started drawing the supports of the shape V. I had to do a cube and draw two different sections to create two geometrical shapes and put them together. To finish I used "union". I used polar array to copy them around an axis. 3. Presentation, book and families

Since I already wrote about presentation sheets in my last blog post I will only write about families and color schemes in this post. Families Figure 1 - reference planes The planes of reference are those that delimit us the drawing and help us to place the different elements of the family. The two planes that define origin form the point of insertion of the family. It is important that the planes of origin be anchored so that they do not move. Reference planes can be dimensioned and parameterized to control the distances between them. The dimensions create parameters to previously decide the distances of the objects linked to the planes.
